Below you will find a detailed set of specs and standards that we recommend you use when creating Snap Ads (Top Snaps) for use in the TubeMogul Platform. Snap Ads are 3-7 second vertical, full screen interstitial video ads that give the audience the choice to view, listen and engage.

  • Creative assets must fill full screen while leaving margin space between any text or logos from the edge of the creative. Snap Ads require 64px margins on both the right and left sides, as well as 150px margin space on the top for the ad’s Brand Name and Headline labels, as well as 150px margin space on the bottom for Snapchat’s “AD” sticker label.
  • Resolution 9:16 aspect ratio
    Ad Format .mp4 or .mov
    Audio Code Audio 2 channels only; PCM or AAC codec 192 minimum kbps 16 or 24 bit only 48 KHz sample rate
    Video H.264 encoded
    Execution Timeline
    • To run Snap Ads with Adobe Ad Cloud, client will need to be approved and advertising accounts setup
    • For approved advertisers, turnaround time to set up campaign is 2-3 days
    • Full-screen, vertical video files only
    • Must include sound
    • Snap Ad creative must vary when running multiple ads
    • Content approved for a 13+ aged audience

  • Restrictions and Requirements


    • Letter boxing / borders of any kind
    • Use Snapcodes, Snapchat usernames, social handles, or social platform logos
    • Silent or still Snap Ads
    • Imitation of organic Snaps or native Snapchat creative tools (i.e. doodles, static emojis, stickers, native text bar, Snapchat-style Helvetica font, Geofilter-like overlays, etc)
    • Silent or still ads (audio must be on throughout the ad, otherwise Snapchat will reject your creative submission)
    • Call-to-action to swipe up or any other Snap Ad CTA. (These overlays are added by Snapchat on top of the ad)
    • Call-to-action to screenshot or share the Snap Ad
    • Text graphic message to “Swipe Up” or arrows indicating swiping up (verbal CTA to “Swipe Up” is permitted)
    • Brand URLs are accepted,so long as they are simple(i.e., do not feature Snapchat in the URL. URLs cannot appear on screen for longer than 3 seconds.
