Congrats To TellyTopia For Surpassing 50,000 Videos Delivered

Today, TubeMogul distribution partner TellyTopia announced that they aired over 50,000 videos to date. TellyTopia’s i2TV service specializes in bringing online video content to television, airing select videos on a 24×7 cable TV channel and VoD (Video-on-Demand). TellyTopia’s mission, according to the company, is to “bring convergence to the worlds of Internet and television,” and the company continues to expand its reach with cable providers worldwide.

Full-Length TV Episodes Haven’t Taken Off On YouTube (Yet)

Full-length shows are not popular on YouTube, despite heavy promotion of the site’s new “Shows” section. In all, YouTube has 3,215 full-length TV episodes, but only averages 7,407.9 views per episode.

TubeMogul On Fog City Wrestling

Our friends (and TubeMogul users) at Fog City Wrestling were kind enough to have us on their TV show. Our plug happens after the opening credits, about half-way into the video below. Prior to this, my only glimpse of wrestling culture was watching “The Wrestler” starring Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei. These guys are like that, bringing a passion, athleticism and sense of theatrics that you have to be there to see.

Current TV Journalists Detained In North Korea

We were sad to learn that several video journalists working for Current TV were recently detained by the North Korean government. Obviously our thoughts and prayers are with them. According to a news release (via the WSJ), “while other outlets are scaling back on their international investigations, the ‘Vanguard’ team is pushing the envelope. … We’re taking risks and using all of our resources to pursue the important stories that need to be told.”

CBS All Over March Madness On YouTube

In addition to streaming all March Madness games for free online, CBS is flooding YouTube with dunk reels and game highlights, launching 38 videos this past weekend alone. The results? Few pirated clips exist anywhere on YouTube, with 96.19% of all tourney views coming from CBS’s official channels.

Then look no further than Seth Macfarlane’s “Cavalcade of Comedy” on YouTube. According to our demographics reporting, 83.39% of its viewers are male, with 62.68% between the ages of 15 and 24 (details below). Given this, Burger King as a sponsor makes a lot of sense (but does Priceline?).
