We’ve recently been writing about the NECESSITY to use video as a part of your internet marketing mix because of the new world of universal search. We also published our own web video marketing best practices here. Patrick Schaber of Search Engine Guide writes about a recent success story. Michael Dorausch of ADIO chiropractic posted a video of him adjusting a patient’s spine using something called a “drop table.” He has nearly 10,000 views through organic search and has gained at least one new client who specifically referenced the video. Great ROI for a very simple video of Michael doing his job!
Here is the simple video in reference, but now you can also find a few more:

As I wrote in a previous post, the use of video over the internet has quickly become a requirement for marketing. But how do you do it? We here at TubeMogul have compiled what we’ve learned by watching your successes (and failures), and put it in this report, “Web Video Marketing - Best Practices.” We even share with you a formula that we feel helps weight where to allocate your efforts in creating a video and putting it online. We do this with lack of regard for our safety, as we’re certain there will be those with strong opinions against such a formula. We welcome you to share what you think, whatever form that takes!

Many of you use TubeMogul knowing that Google’s Universal Search and Ask’s 3-D Search has made it an absolute necessity to use video to maintain organic results. Some of you use TubeMogul and didn’t even realize that you’re getting great SEO value! You better recognize!
You probably have seen that video results are ranking very high in these new search engine results page formats… which means other things are getting displaced. Media Post wrote about this back in May under the title “Google’s Universal Search: Where Video and SEO Meet.” This week they questioned whether Google would be backing off from Universal Search, but based on revenue increases shown through blended search results, it doesn’t seem likely.
Gregory Markel, SEO guru and founder of the search engine marketing firm, Infuse Creative, informs us the new world is here and utilizing video is more important than ever before - check out his interview on Ken Radio’s 9/28 report on Universal Search Results.

The questions we’ve been receiving about the TubeMogul upload tool have shifted from “what file types can I use” to “What are the best formats and video pixel dimensions with the sites you serve?”
This is a tough one to answer, as each site is a little different. In general, the mp4 file format (h.264) at 720×480 or 640×480 pixel dimensions is probably the best, but we want to reach out to you all to find out what is working best for you. Please share with us! We’re hoping to compile the information, along with our own learnings, and share it with the world.
