How To Become A Best Place To Work
Well, that didn’t take long.
After joining TubeMogul to lead Talent Acquisition and Recruiting just over a month ago, I’m proud to announce that we’ve already been named one of Glassdoor’s Best Places To Work!
Just kidding – unfortunately I can’t take credit for this award. That recognition is reserved for the many TubeMogul employees who left positive reviews of their experience while working at TubeMogul on Glassdoor. Of all the Best Places To Work awards out there, Glassdoor’s is particularly unique – and exciting – in that the award is given solely based on employee feedback.
I can, however, talk about some of the things I’ve noticed in the relatively short time I’ve been here that helped us come in fifth nationally out of all companies with less than 1,000 employees:
I’m incredibly fortunate to have joined a company with a clearly defined set of core values and passion for culture. From day one, it’s been blatantly apparent that to Mogulers, culture isn’t just an abstract term – it’s a tangible thing in which everyone is involved. Everyone that I’ve met takes serious pride in the work they do – not because it’s changing the world (though some may say that it is!), but because they’re proud to be accountable for it.
That sense of accountability starts at the very top with our CEO, Brett Wilson, and the rest of our C-level executives. The senior leadership here has done a beautiful job transitioning from entrepreneurs with MBAs to seasoned executives who can scale a global company. They’ve done it because they’ve created an environment where people are encouraged to move quickly, aren’t afraid to make mistakes, and are empowered to make tough decisions independently.
Since becoming a publicly traded company, we’ve enjoyed increased attention from top-tier candidates. But instead of being known for what we’ve done, we prefer to be known for the way that we’ve done it.
This marks our second Best Place to Work award in 2014, and we continue to focus on the culture that makes TubeMogul such a special place.
