I have thousands of videos to upload, can you help?
Why do stats reported on a video site (i.e. within YouTube Insight, or Blip's admin panel) sometimes differ from TubeMogul's numbers?

How long does it take to upload my video?
This depends on the web site and the size of your file. Some sites like Revver and MetaCafe have human review processes, while others load immediately.

Can I track videos even if I'm not uploading through TubeMogul?
Yes!

How many publishers can I track?
Anything you upload will be tracked, plus five publishers other than you.

What if I've entered a video or publishers to track and no data appears?
Typically, we begin tracking your videos upon the date of your request to do so. So if no data appears initially, log back in one day to see your data. In the cases where one of our members is already tracking a specific video or video publisher the information will appear immediately.

Why doesn't my cumulative data match the total data in my Top 10 table?
Your total in the Top 10 table is the 30 day total for only your top 10 videos from the past 30 days. If you feel your totals aren't matching your cumulative, first look to see if the data is noted to be over a specified range of time, such as: "since 12/17/2007."

How is cumulative calculated?
Cumulative figures represent the total views for all visible videos for all time. Therefore, if a publisher removes a video, it is possible to see a decline in the cumulative views.

How can I export data older than 30 days into Excel?
Please email us if you are interested in this feature. Advanced Data Export is a premium feature and allows for you to pull data over any range you desire.

How many videos can I upload and deploy?
One video distributed to five sites counts as five (5) video deployments. You are allowed 100 deployments per month in the free product. If you exceed the monthly limit, extra deployments may be made available upon request.

How many groupings can I create?
You can create five (5) groupings at any one time in the free product. More groupings are available in our premium products.

On which sites can I upload and track my videos?
See this chart for a breakdown of supported sites.

Do I get to choose which sites I want to upload to?
Yes. After uploading your video to TubeMogul and entering the Title, Description, Tags, and Category, you will choose which sites you want to deploy your videos.

What are your Terms of Service?
By uploading to the various sites, you must agree to each site's Terms of Service. In addition TubeMogul has its own Terms of Service.

Do uploaded videos go to my accounts or a TubeMogul account on the various sites?
We upload to your accounts. You enter your credentials for the site, and the videos go to your channel just as if you uploaded directly.

What do you do with my usernames and passwords?
You choose whether or not to save them in your TubeMogul account. In either case, we encrypt your information. We take security very seriously.

Why did my video fail to upload?
When your video fails to upload you will see a Red error icon. Check the error status to see what the issue is. Common issues are login errors (wrong password), videos rejected by the site, duplicate video uploaded, etc.

Why don't you track all of the 250+ video sharing sites out there?
We have been focused on building our core features and services, and your feedback is pointing us to the sites we will be adding next. Look for additional sites to be added in the near future. We are working on integrating stats for Blip.tv for verified owners of the video only because viewership data is currently private.

The category I want to for my video upload isn't listed. Why?
See the table of category mappings here.

How do you fit the titles, descriptions, and tags to each site?
We currently crop the wording if it's too long. However, you get to see how each site displays your list of tags, which is important because they have different rules for displaying comma delimiting lists and duplicate words.

What if I want to change title, description, or tags after the upload?
You can edit your video's metadata after you upload the video to TubeMogul, but not after you launch the video on other sites.

Also, premium users have the option to recall videos for videos that have been deployed to the various video sites. Click here for details about our premium services.

What are the best video pixel dimensions and format to use with the sites you serve?
This is a tough one to answer, as each site is a little different. In general, the mp4 file format (h.264) 640x480 pixel dimensions is probably the best. We now have a transcoding feature which allows you to upload FLV files and we will transcode and compress them to the optimal specifications for each video-sharing site.

What audio formats do you support?
We support most common audio formats. However, be warned that some people have had issues when using the wmav2 codec. If you have a question about a specfic format please feel free to contact us.

How do I track virality, buzz and macro-level trends?
Add videos and video publishers that are important to you into a group. You can then track the aggregate viewership information related to that group. In addition, our premium service includes Viral Analytics that tracks pirated clips, mashups and more by keyword. Learn more here.

What if I have questions regarding my data?
If you have any questions, or something seems awry, just send us an email and we'll take a look at the issue.

How can I learn more about how to use TubeMogul?
Check out our Feature pages as well as the TubeMogul instructional videos.

How do I contact you?
See our contact us page.

Does upload tie in with the TubeMogul reporting features?
Yes! That's the beauty of TubeMogul!

I don't get it -- how can TubeMogul be so awesome and still be free?
TubeMogul charges for premium features -- see our product packages here.

What are the file size limits and codecs/formats that you accept?
We accept files up to 300MB, but recommend staying under 100MB. Each video sharing site sets its own limits, but many require you to stay under 100 MB. (click here for the full list.) To prevent any quality loss, we only transcode when required to match different sites' size and formatting requirements. (Click here for the list of accepted video formats broken down by site.) Once you click launch, be sure to check back to see your upload status.

To upload larger file sizes, contact us.

Why are my comments numbers negative today?
From time to time the number of comments made on a video can dip when video viewers flag comments as spam, thus removing them from the count.

I want to upload a file over 100MB, but I can't get your big file uploader to work. What should I do?
If you cannot get the big file uploader working, chances are your version of Java is outdated so you might try downloading the latest version at Java.com. Or, use our basic uploader which doesn't have a status indicator, but is tried and true for all web browsers and operating systems.

If you need to upload hundreds or even thousands of videos at once, we allow batch uploads for premium users, either through a MRSS feed or via our API. More here.

Why do stats reported on a video site (i.e. within YouTube Insight, or Blip's admin panel) sometimes differ from TubeMogul's numbers?

Often, this is due to differences in what is being measured. Blip, for instance, includes television and podcast downloads--mediums we do not currently track. Please keep in mind that, while we partner with video sites, our numbers are independent and mostly obtained via our proprietary InPlay technology.
